FurCred vs Kindred

FurCred vs Kindred: which one fits you?

Kindred is a credit-based home-swap network. FurCred uses a similar credit mechanic, but for pet sitting between members of the same city.

Kindred (livekindred.com) launched in 2021 with a clean idea: members swap entire homes using a credit system, no money between members. It's grown into a network of design-led homes across the US, Europe and beyond. FurCred shares the credit-economy DNA but applies it to a different problem — pet sitting between neighbours, not home swapping between travellers. We were openly inspired by Kindred's mechanic; we built FurCred because pet care needed the same restoration of trust, and home swap doesn't solve it.

The comparison, head to head.

When Kindred is the right choice

Pick Kindred if…

  • You're planning a city break and would rather stay in a member's flat than a hotel.
  • Your pet travels with you, or doesn't need at-home care.
  • You like the curated-homes aesthetic and want the home-swap experience as part of the trip.
When FurCred fits better

Pick FurCred if…

  • Your pet needs at-home care because they're anxious, old, on medication, or just better at home.
  • You're not travelling for accommodation reasons — work, family, weekend trips — and just need pet cover.
  • You're in Berlin, London or Dublin and want to know your sitters in person, not by listing.
The bottom line

Kindred and FurCred solve different problems with the same mechanic. If you want a free place to stay, Kindred. If you want trusted hands looking after your pet at home, FurCred. Plenty of people use both, for different parts of the same trip.

FurCred is open in Berlin, London and Dublin.
